American InterContinental University

American InterContinental University (AIU) was established in 1970 in Lucerne, Switzerland[1] by American couple Jack and Helen Barnette of Atlanta, and was first known as the American Fashion College of Switzerland.[1] The school was perceived as an American degree granting organization in 1971, at first offering relate and four year certifications beginning in 1974. In 1976 the Switzerland-based school opened a grounds in Atlanta and, in 1978, the Lucerne grounds moved to London and changed its name to the American College for the Applied Arts.

By 1978, the school had around 300 understudies, and started to extend its course offering past design to territories, for example, business. The school opened a few different grounds in consequent years. Steve Bostic purchased the school in 1996 and changed its name to American InterContinental University. In 2001, AIU was obtained by its present proprietor, Career Education Corporation, which is a traded on an open market administrator of revenue driven schools.
